Wandering girl

I tried to be sensible and go to bed at 10 last night. This is a whole nearly 6 hours earlier than I've gone to bed over the last two weeks. Oh break, you are the only time I can be a night owl. :(

It so didn't work and I ended up drifting in and out of sleep from around 11 to 5 am. And apparently the cat wanted to sleep right on top of me instead of on the pillow he usually takes up space on. I think he did this on purpose but since I can't read cat thoughts I'm not too sure.

The kiddos were good though and school went well.

And I'm not tired...so maybe all the times I thought I was waking up was a dream? I have no idea.

I had a very Robert Downey Jr Christmas. I didn't mean to do this but it's what happened.

Went and saw Sherlock Holmes which was fun and the Holmes/Watson moments were the best. And then because of the preview for Iron Man 2 I watched the first one when I got home because what better says joy to the world than Tony Stark building his suit?

And now Tropic Thunder is on and well, why not? Might as well cap the day off with one more RDJ movie.

I just read X-Men Legacy #229 and whatever the last X-Force number was.

Finally was able to go and buy it today.

This is not what Megan expected to happen.

She was going to follow the stupid girl who took her soul and get it back. Then she'd be whole and the dagger wouldn't work or somehow take over and make her do things she didn't mean to do.

She wasn't supposed to end up losing another piece of it.

It was such a simple plan. Go with the others to Limbo. Find Illyana. Take back her soul. But nothing was ever simple in the Otherplace. Nothing ever turned out how one wanted.

The darkness there devoured all the good; twisted and tore at it until it didn't resemble what it once was. Until it became like the rest of the creatures.

She had glimpsed herself in the mirror; an image of what she could become if she stayed too long in that wretched place. If she allowed herself to falter, to let the sliver of cold that took over where the piece of her soul had been to consume her.

It wasn't an image she wanted to ever see again but she'd seen it every night since they had returned. Her altered self visited her in her nightmares and Megan began wonder if maybe that demonic girl was who she was meant to be. If she was merely denying her true nature.

Whenever she sees Illyana now Megan swears the girl can see right through her. That Illyana knows the secret darkness that she carries within because Illyana Rasputin carries the same darkness within herself.

Megan hates the girl and is afraid that hatred will be her undoing but she can't stop.

Not yet, at least.

"No no no no. No speaking up. That way leads to madness and sweaty palms."

Ah Willow. Always my fav.

The one quote that always sticks out in my mind with Buffy (well BESIDES the musicals) is the often used, "If the Apocalypse comes, beep me." It's nearly ingrained into my head.

Oh. I'm not dead.

I seriously need to post in this again. Le sigh.
