X3 and stuff
I saw X3 today and shall talk about it under the cut so as not to spoil anyone. On a side note, my arm is killing me. I don't know what I did to it, but if I move it certain ways I get splitting pains running through it. *glares at arm*
Well, I liked it and I'm really glad that I was spoiled for the movie or I think I would have walked away hating it. I think that as an X-Men movie it worked well, though I don't think it was a great follow up to the previous movies. It didn't flow well with the other two.
The beginning to me was really off and it saddened me that there was no voice over by Xavier before the title. I did love seeing young!Magneto and Xavier converse with Jean. It was just fun to see all the Magneto/Xavier vibes. I enjoyed the danger room sequence and was glad they were finally able to show the room as I know I've been waiting for that to happen in the movies. :P And there was Moira! I was surprised and excited to see her there and working with mutants, even if she didn't have her cool Scottish accent (I think it was Scottish...) The little things they threw in were nice, like Beast saying "Stars and garters" and Wolvie with the cigar in the danger room.
Magneto was awesome, but I knew he would be. I adored the scene when he stopped the car transport, more than I did the bridge scene, which reminded me a lot of Ultimate!Magneto. The transport scene was classic Magneto and when he turned against Mystique! *grins* I love the two of them being rivals in the comics which is probably why I never quite liked the two of them together in the movies. All I can picture is Raven with her cool skulls and white dress thing, with guns hidden somehow in the piece of cloth, groaning about how much of an irresponsible, megalomaniac Magneto is.
And the chess piece! *claps* Ha! Magneto was so deliciously cold to Mystique after her powers went away and his speeches. Guh! Oh and when he told Pyro that Xavier had done more for mutants and all that. *hugs Magneto* I love him so.
Jean's red outfit! OMG I want one. *pets pretty outfit* I didn't quite like the take on Phoenix, but I do understand why they did it because going into that whole storyline would have taken hours.
Pyro was great. I loved his snark and his devotion to Magneto. He's such a good little soldier.
I didn't really care for Kitty and I have a feeling that mostly had to do with the fact that I felt she took screen time from Rogue. Though, I almost started to like Bobby again. Almost.
Rogue. *shakes head* I...just...no. No no no. I knew she'd take the cure but I still couldn't grasp the reasoning behind it. Though I hope that she becomes really bitter once it wears off and leaves the X-Men, joins up with Magneto and his newly formed Brotherhood (because he will be gathering a new one now) and reeks some serious havoc. *nods* Voluntarily taking the cure *shudders*
I think I have more to say but my eyes are closing so I should probably just go and crash. There may be more tomorrow.
