Just updating this thing because its been pushed behind a whole bunch of fics.

Fics will always--um, mostly--be posted publicly as will any icons or graphics--usually.

Comment to be added, please.

And guys, if you're already friended you don't need to say anything. :)

Title: The Lonely
Rating: PG
Pairing: Chlollie
Characters: Chloe Sullivan, mentions of Oliver
Summary: Chloe’s reaction to Oliver’s announcement that he’s the Green Arrow.
Warnings: Nothing except maybe it’s a bit angsty.
Author’s Note: I only started watching Smallville earlier this year, but Chloe became one of my favourite characters from the start and her story with Oliver was so epic and lovely that this little plot bunny wouldn’t go away until I wrote it. So here it is.

AAAAAAAAAAAA so those 50 sentence things got me interested in writing a longer Destiny/Mystique story and how they became a little family with Rogue and I already have my outline and like 2000+ words written for this thing today. I do not need this to eat my brain, but I miss this family so much.

Yeah, I stole this from K and Kris and Kates.

Featured Character: Mystique and Destiny
Pairings: Mystique/Destiny
Ratings: Nothing should be over R
Warnings: assassination, an abuse of punctuation rules probably!

I just really miss them D: )

Okay, so I don't usually do this, but this is an issue near and dear to me and this is getting very little no attention in the mainstream media.

Mississippi is voting on November 8th on whether to pass Amendment 26, the "Personhood Amendment". This amendment would grant fertilized eggs and fetuses personhood status.

Putting aside the contentious issue of abortion, this would effectively outlaw birth control and criminalize women who have miscarriages. This is not a good thing.

Jackson Women's Health Organization is the only place women can get abortions in the entire state, and they are trying to launch a grassroots movement against this amendment. This doesn't just apply to Mississippi, though, as Personhood USA, the group that introduced this amendment, is trying to introduce identical amendments in all 50 states.

What's more, in Mississippi, this amendment is expected to pass. It even has Mississippi Democrats, including the Attorney General, Jim Hood, backing it.

The reason I'm posting this here is because I made a meager donation to the Jackson Women's Health Organization this morning, and I received a personal email back hours later - on a Sunday - thanking me and noting that I'm one of the first "outside" people to contribute.

So if you sometimes pass on political action because you figure that enough other people will do something to make a difference, make an exception on this one. My RSS reader is near silent on this amendment. I only found out about it through a feminist blog. The mainstream media is not reporting on it.

If there is ever a time to donate or send a letter in protest, this would be it.

What to do?

- Read up on it. Wake Up, Mississippi is the home of the grassroots effort to fight this amendment. Daily Kos also has a thorough story on it.

- If you can afford it, you can donate at the site's link.

- You can contact the Democratic National Committee to see why more of our representatives aren't speaking out against this.

- Like this Facebook page to help spread awareness.

My guy was sweet and brought me chicken noodle soup and then watched Repo! and The Labyrinth with me. I fell asleep somewhere after the weird creatures that toss their heads around showed up, but I’m feeling better. At least I did not wake up with a headache, which is seriously SO ANNOYING.

After I do my cleaning I can try AIM and catch up on tags. I don’t even want to look at them. :|

MY COMICS FINALLY HAVE A DAMN PLACE IN MY APARTMENT

I have probably the craziest management system for my comics. Aside from such wonderful assortments as the usual X-Men First Class, Generation X, Dazzler, Ultimate X-men, etc there are also:

When Paige saved Sam and X-Force!
SKIDS!!!
Roberto's vacation after hurting Sam
Rogue's early years
Rogue is an X-Man!
Magneto/Rogue
Banshee dies D:
Rogue and Mystique have family moments!
Serafina screws with Sam
Tabby is an idiot
LOIS LONDON AKA MORTIS!!

But see I like being able to find the issues together that I want to read. So my system makes sense to me.

Or I'm crazy and it's like one o'clock in the morning. Either is possible.

I took the day off work today because I woke up with a pounding headache and really didn't want to try and deal with it and twenty 4s.

Apparently the cat decided that my sleeping it off was a bad idea. Magnus decided to jump on my face with his claws. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he was scared awake but I seriously look like I was beaten up or something. It's not bleeding anymore though. >|

Sigh.

At least the headache is gone.

I would not mind if this wasn't the SEVENTH TIME I'VE HAD TO GO HELP DO THIS. I do not know the difference between purple and that other purple. I am sorry. I do not. Nor can I accessorize. Seriously, why was I picked for this?!

I am so happy I have my phone to distract me while this is happening.

We're working on the letter C in school this week. So I'm working with my small groups and ask the kids in my high group to give me some more words that start with C to add to our chart.

I get the usual: cat, car, cake. And then one girl is all "cannonball"! I'm impressed she knows what a cannonball is since I work in the worst part of town and the chances of her seeing one out here are kinda slim. So I draw a little black cannonball.

She's all..."No. That's not it."

Here goes our convo:

Me: A cannonball. Like what comes out of a cannon?
Little Girl: No!
Me....um, come and draw it.

SO she goes up and draws a stick figure with a head and arms and a body and then gets the RED crayon to draw fire where the legs should be cause "it helps him fly" and then gets the black crayon again and draws "the things for swimming" over his eyes. GOGGLES.

I'm all..."Cannonball the superhero?" And yep. Thats who it was.

This is of course the same girl who wants to be Captain America when she grows up.

Four year olds can be really adorable sometimes.

And apparently I don't have a Sam icon so have his baby sister instead!!!

Sign ups for [livejournal.com profile] comicsbigbang are up and running! If you've got a comic story you've been wanting to write for awhile you should definitely go over and sign up. It's 10,000+ words of fanfic for a comics story--DC, Marvel, Wildstorm, others (I don't know many besides DC and Marvel). And I believe it can be any incarnation of them--movies, comics, animated.

I'm going to be doing a Megan Gwynn centric story. Or at least that is the plan! I've been wanting to get back into writing fan fic and this seems like a good way to get my feet wet again.

I tried to be sensible and go to bed at 10 last night. This is a whole nearly 6 hours earlier than I've gone to bed over the last two weeks. Oh break, you are the only time I can be a night owl. :(

It so didn't work and I ended up drifting in and out of sleep from around 11 to 5 am. And apparently the cat wanted to sleep right on top of me instead of on the pillow he usually takes up space on. I think he did this on purpose but since I can't read cat thoughts I'm not too sure.

The kiddos were good though and school went well.

And I'm not tired...so maybe all the times I thought I was waking up was a dream? I have no idea.

I had a very Robert Downey Jr Christmas. I didn't mean to do this but it's what happened.

Went and saw Sherlock Holmes which was fun and the Holmes/Watson moments were the best. And then because of the preview for Iron Man 2 I watched the first one when I got home because what better says joy to the world than Tony Stark building his suit?

And now Tropic Thunder is on and well, why not? Might as well cap the day off with one more RDJ movie.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas/Friday.
